LFEPA members' allowances

We are required by law to have an allowance scheme for LFEPA members and to publicise the total sums paid each year to each member.

The main features of our scheme are as follows:

Basic allowance - an annual basic allowance of £7,206 is paid to each LFEPA borough representative.

Special responsibility allowance - annual allowances are paid to borough representatives holding the following positions:

• Deputy Chair £11,324;
• Chair of Finance, Procurement and Property Committee £11,324;
• Liaison Member & Director of Firebuy £12,236; 
• Liaison Member £8,236

Basic and special responsibility allowances are not payable to Assembly members as they receive a salary from the GLA.

Travel and subsistence allowances
These are payable to all members of the Authority in connection with or relating to the duties set out in the scheme. The maximum rates are the same as for LFEPA Main Grade/Principal Officers and are currently as follows:

Subsistence

• Breakfast - £6.18
• Lunch - £8.24
• Evening Meal - £15.44
• Overnight accommodation (excluding meals) where the accommodation has not been booked and paid for by LFEPA - £115.00

Travelling rates

• Motor vehicle - for first 3,000 miles a year- 54.46p per mile, next 4,000 miles - 40.84p per mile, thereafter (i.e. over 7,000 miles) - 28.99p per mile
• Motorcycle - up to 150 cc - 16.81p per mile, exceeding 151 cc - 23.24p per mile
• Bicycle - 16.81p per mile

Other allowances
Expenses incurred by the Chair (up to £750), Deputy Chair Community Outreach (up to £4,000) and other members (up to £750) in the reception and entertainment by way of official courtesy of distinguished visitors to London and of people connected with public services are paid.
