Asbestos reportingFrom 21 May 2004 it is a legal requirement for premises, other than domestic buildings such as a house, to report the presence of asbestos. Here's what you need to do. This is a requirement of regulation 4 of the Control of asbestos at work regulations (2002). Copies of the regulations and approved codes of practice are available from Her Majesty's Stationery Office and a free guidance leaflet is available from the Health and Safety Executive website.
The duty holder of any non-domestic premises (duty holder being person responsible for maintenance/repair/access to the premises) is responsible for passing information about the presence of asbestos to the Emergency Services. The duty holder can report this information to us via a webform. About the webform: The webform requires you to answer some specific questions. Please consult the following guidance, which will help you complete the form correctly. Building details
