This interactive module is aimed at people who are assigned the key fire safety duties for their premises in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Course overview

This half-day course is designed to assist ‘Responsible Persons’ in meeting their legal requirements for fire safety

The course provides an overview of fire safety legislation and guidance together with a clear focus on the duties of the ‘Responsible Person’ as laid out in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Course material and handouts are used in conjunction with relevant legislation and its associated guidance.

Aim

To provide delegates with the knowledge & understanding to assist them in dealing with the legal requirements placed on a ‘Responsible Person’.

Learning objectives

By the end of this training delegates should be able to:

  • Identify the relevant fire safety legislation and associated guidance
  • Define 'Responsible Person' and other related terms
  • Detail the key fire safety duties as they apply to the 'Responsible Person'
  • Recognise the role of enforcing authorities

Prerequisites

None.

Who should attend?

People who have themselves been identified as the ‘Responsible Person’ within their own situation, or others required to work closely on fire safety matters with such a ‘Responsible Person’.

The course will also prove an invaluable insight for those managers who themselves have been assigned individual fire safety responsibilities.
