Our recent performance

The government have set us a series of Best Value performance indicators (BVPIs) to measure our performance. This area sets out how we estimate we have performed as an organisation in 2006/07.

Our performance indicators

Some indicators are specific to the firefighting and rescue and fire safety services, and others relate to how well we run our organisation generally. LFEPA members have also set some local indicators, London Fire Performance Indicators (LFPIs), to supplement the national BVPIs. These LFPIs include targets and are used to measure performance in other key aspects of the services we deliver.

We also have a range of London Fire Service Measures (LFSMs) which we use to monitor activity levels and trends to establish whether any actions needs to be taken. These LFSMs differ from LFPIs in that we do not set targets for them.

Breakdown of performance information for:

There are over 100 performance indicators set out in our Best Value Performance Plan. Below is a breakdown of our key performance indicators, showing our actual performance figures for 2005/06 and 2006/2007 and provisional performance figures 2006/07.

Thematic reports

In order to provide a greater understanding of our performance, a series of thematic reports have been produced. These reports look in more detail at a particular performance area or indicator with the aim of providing a greater level of detail and to look at both the drivers and the levers impacting on performance.
