Directorate and departmental structureThese charts show the organisational structure of each of our four directorates. There is an overview for each directorate followed by detailed charts for each department or section within that directorate. Following recent changes to the management structure, a number of charts are currently being updated, and these will appear shortly.
Commissioner - senior managementThe Commissioner's role is to provide overall co-ordination and promotion of the highest standards of management and operational practice throughout our organisation; ensure the effective, efficient and economic discharge of our fire and emergency planning responsibilities; provide leadership and direction through the provision of sound strategic plans to meet our objectives; and take ultimate responsibility for advising our Members on business decisions as the Head of Service.
Director of Fire & Community SafetyCS Directorate is responsible for all aspects of our service delivery. The Director's role is to plan, direct and deliver core fire and community safety policies to maximum effectiveness ensuring continual improvement in efficiency and performance and compliance with regulations and the law. Functional responsibilities include: Service Delivery and Community Safety, Service Delivery and Mobilising, Fire Safety Regulation and Equalities.
Director of Corporate ServicesThe Director of Corporate Services is responsible for the service areas that support the delivery of our business objectives. Functional responsibilities include IT, Communications, Legal and Democratic Services, Strategic Risk and Strategy Planning and Performance. The Director leads on the development of corporate strategy, develops and leads effective performance management systems and sets best practice and leads innovation in service areas to benefit the Authority, and raises awareness at the highest possible levels of potential corporate opportunities and risks.
Director of ResourcesThe Director of Resources provides information, advice and expertise to help meet our strategic objectives through the optimal use of resources, providing direction and strategy for each of the areas of resource to enable them to contribute to the achievement of overall corporate strategy. Functional responsibilities include: Finance, Human Resources, Procurement and Property, including a corporate remit for Sustainability.
Director of Operational Policy and TrainingThe Director of Operational Policy and Training provides information, advice and expertise, bringing together the key functions of Health & Safety, Training & Development, Operational Planning Special Operations Group, and the Fire Link and Fire Control project to give a visible commitment to effective safety management. These professional areas work together to support the sharing of organisational intelligence, the reduction of risk and the improvement of service delivery.
