Publication scheme

Under section 19 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, each public authority must produce and maintain a publication scheme outlining:

• The classes of information that we publish or intend to publish in the future
• The manner in which information is made available
• Whether the information is free or at a charge

The purpose of a publication scheme is to make sure that a significant amount of information is made available to the public without the need for a specific request.

Our publication scheme comes in two parts:

• Introduction to the publication scheme
• List of classes

The introduction to our publication scheme includes information about the Freedom of Information Act, our commitment to openness, what a publication scheme is, how publication schemes work and how to contact us.

The second part of the scheme lists the classes of information we publish. A class of information describes the types of information available together with details of how it is made available and any charges that might apply.

The publication scheme was approved by the Authority on 12 December 2002 (report FEP 362) and by the Information Commissioner in January 2003. If required, we can send you a copy of LFEPA’s publication scheme by email or post.
