Freedom of information

LFEPA, like all government departments and local councils, is working to implement the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (which came into full force in January 2005).

The Act is about making information available to the public to increase accountability and transparency in the decisions we make and about the services we provide.

The Act places two main duties on us:

We have always been as open as possible with the information we hold and the work that we do. We strongly believe in openness and honesty. In line with the spirit of the Freedom of Information Act and our core values we have made a commitment to openness where we aim to share our knowledge as widely as possible and be open and transparent about the decisions we make. You can find our commitment to openness in our publication scheme.

If you have any comments, suggestions or queries about freedom of information at LFEPA please contact the:
