London Fire Brigade Schools Team has developed a new range of teaching resources with the help of an educationalist, through extensive consultation with teachers and children.
These resources are intended to supplement the work of the London Fire Brigade Schools Team. Since we are only able to visit Year 2 and Year 5 classes annually we hope that teachers will find these resources helpful in bringing fire safety education to all the other year groups, whilst maintaining a consistent message across all age ranges. All schools that receive a visit from the LFB Schools Team will be given a password in order to access the resource suite which will enable the teachers to build upon the fire safety input the children have had.
There are worksheets and activities provided for every primary year group, from Foundation through to Key Stage Two, so that all children can benefit from some level of fire safety awareness. Used in conjunction with the 'related links', our aim is to help teachers make fire safety engaging and fun as well as linking it in to as many different areas of the curriculum as possible.
We hope you find our resource suite helpful, and ask that you encourage other teachers at your school to utilise this free facility. We welcome feedback on the resources, or suggestions on how to develop them, would be very welcome.
