Our organisation is structured into four directorates with a corporate management team. The charts show the top management structure, an overview of the entire organisation, the corporate management team and directorates.
The Corporate management team’s role is to provide overall co-ordination and promotion of the highest standards of management and operational practice throughout our organisation; to ensure the effective, efficient and economic discharge of our fire and emergency planning responsibilities; provide leadership and direction through the provision of sound strategic plans to meet our objectives; and to take responsibility for advising our Members on business decisions.
The Deputy Commissioner’s Directorate is responsible for the planning, direction and delivery of all aspects of operational service delivery including mobilising, community and regulatory fire safety. It also delivers strategic planning and develops policies and programmes that maximise continuous improvement in efficiency and performance; compliance with regulations and the law; all administrative functions provided to elected members; the servicing of meetings of the Authority and its committees; and the management of internal and external communications.
The Finance & Contractual Services Directorate is responsible for the statutory financial control, accountancy and treasury services, budget, payroll and audit systems; the management of the Authority’s property portfolio; the development and maintenance of services providing direct technical and service support and the central procurement function for goods, services clothing and technical equipment. The Directorate is also responsible for the management of all information & communications technology services.
The Operational Resilience & Training Directorate is responsible for equipment specification; incident monitoring and audit; emergency and contingency planning; resilience, and the delivery of special projects. The Directorate also has responsibility for the delivery of operational, management and skills training; health and safety and Human Resources functions, including local personnel services, employee relations, advisory and counselling services, policy and transformation, assessment and occupational psychology services, recruitment, career development, and learning support.
