London’s firefighters joined a colourful array of performers, dancers and party goers as they took part in this year’s Notting Hill Carnival parade, using a special float designed to look like a fire station.
Image Community Group and an African dance troupe joined forces with firefighters and Brigade staff from across London, to take to the streets alongside the fictitious ‘Notting Hill Fire Station’.
The parade wasn't just about having fun though, as firefighters passed on information about how Londoners can protect their homes from fire.
London’s Fire Commissioner Ron Dobson said: “Notting Hill Carnival is one of the major events in London’s calendar so I’m really excited that we could be involved. Not only were our firefighters able to meet the City’s diverse communities and promote the fire service as a career, we also passed on safety messages that will save lives.”
