Merton’s Borough Fire Commander Andy Roberts said: “We’ve had some great feedback from people who are already looking forward to the Borough’s first ever Mela, and the day will be a great way of enjoying some of our local culture and colour.
“Though this event is about having fun, it’s also an opportunity for the Brigade and our partners from the Met Police, Merton Council, Merton Voluntary Service Council, Merton Racial Equality Partnership, and local voluntary groups and charities, to meet local people and talk about making our community safer.”
Merton Borough Mela takes place on Saturday, 2nd August at The Hub, Imperial Fields, Bishopsford Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 6BF
From 12pm to 5pm. Admission is free.
