The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has announced the appointment of Councillor Brian Coleman AM as Chairman of the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA), which runs London Fire Brigade.
As Chairman of LFEPA, Brian Coleman will be responsible for driving London Fire Brigade’s work to reduce fires and fire deaths across the capital through an ambitious programme of community safety work. The Authority also plays a key role in ensuring that London is prepared for terrorist attacks and other major incidents.
Councillor Coleman already has significant experience working with London’s fire and rescue service, having served as a leading member of LFEPA for eight years, including in the position of Vice Chairman.
Councillor Coleman said: “I am very pleased to take over as Chairman and look forward to making a difference to the safety of all Londoners. A good deal of work has been done to bring down fires and fire deaths, and I look forward to leading the organisation to continue modernising the London Fire Brigade.”
