Newly released data highlights 7pm as the busiest hour for fires
Firefighters are warning about the dangers of wheat bags being overheated or left unattended after one caused a recent fire on Whitton Avenue West in Greenford.
Members of the public have shared pictures of the close calls they’ve experienced using counterfeit and wrong chargers with their electrical devices. The images show how their plugs have exploded but thankfully not caused a blaze.
Last year there were over 8,000 fires in London caused by rubbish. They start easily, and a large number of them are started deliberately.
Fires caused by smokers’ materials are more likely than other domestic fires to cause death or serious injury. LFB campaigned with other organisations to ensure that all cigarettes sold in the UK meet a fire safer cigarette standard.
