Colin Aherne was first elected to Hammersmith & Fulham Council in 1986. Since that time he has held a number of positions including Vice-Chair of the Social Services Committee, Chair of the Personnel Appeals Panel and Council Side Chair of the Joint Job Evaluation Panel. He is currently a member of the Planning Applications Committee and is the Council Labour Group’s Chief Whip. He was appointed to the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority in June 2008.
