Man dies in North Kensington fire

Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters were called to a fire in Dalgarno Gardens,  North Kensington this evening.

The fire was in a ground floor flat of a five storey block. Around ten per cent of the flat was damaged by the fire. An adult male was rescued from the fire by crews wearing breathing apparatus but was unconscious and not breathing. He was later declared dead at the scene.

Firefighters from North Kensington and Paddington were at the scene. The fire was brought under control by 1750. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
