London Fire Brigade

Golders Green – van fire

08 June 2012

Four fire engine and around 20 firefighters were called to a van fire under a railway arch on A406, near Heathfield Gardens. The van contained two large air compressors. As a precaution, a hazard zone was set up as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.

Firefighters contained the fire to the van and there was no damage to the railway arch. The driver of the van was uninjured.

The Brigade was called at 1702 and the incident was over by 1905. Fire crews from Finchley, Hendon and West Hampstead fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
