Stoke Newington – restaurant fire

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a blaze at a restaurant on Stoke Newington Road in Stoke Newington last night. The ducting from the ground floor to the roof level was destroyed and part of the ground floor was also damaged by the blaze.

Thirty people left the restaurant before the Brigade arrived.

The Brigade was called at 2025 and the fire was under control by 2151. Fire crews from Stoke Newington and Kingsland fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
