A two storey cottage on Totteridge Common, Whetstone, N20 was completely destroyed when a fire broke out in the early hours of this morning.
An older woman fled the blaze before the arrival of the Brigade and was treated by London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation and shock.
The Brigade was called at 0320 and the fire was under control by 0611.
Five fire engines were on the scene, as well as around 25 firefighters from Barnet, Mill Hill, Finchley and Southgate fire stations.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
