Edmonton - woman dies following house fire

Thirty five firefighters and officers were called to a house fire on Sweet Briar Green, Edmonton, on Sunday 24 August.

Three people had left the building before the arrival of the Brigade and crews rescued a woman from the first floor window via a ladder, who was then taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.  Sadly the woman died in hospital yesterday (Thursday).

All of the roof and most of the first floor and half of the second floor were damaged in the blaze. 

Six fire engines from Tottenham, Enfield, Southgate and Walthamstow fire stations attended the incident.

The Brigade was called at 1007 on 24 August and the fire was under control by 1340.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
