Four fire engines and around twenty firefighters have attended a fire in a flat on Cunningham Place, NW8, in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters discovered the body of a young female child in the flat. Two adult males and two male children were rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus. A male child jumped from a third floor window .
The fire badly damaged the 3rd floor flat (the building is a block of 4 floors).
The Brigade was called at 0254 and the fire was under control by 0420.
Crews from North Kensington, Paddington and Belsize were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
