Bow – flat fire

Fire crews were called to a fire in a flat on Old Ford Road, in the early hours of this morning. Half of the ground floor flat was damaged by fire and there was heavy smoke throughout the building.

One person was led to safety by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and a further two people escaped before we arrived.

The Brigade was called at 0015 and the fire was under control by 0133. Crews from Bethnal Green and Homerton fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by police and fire officers.
