South Lambeth – flat fire

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a fire in a five storey block of flats on Wandsworth Road in South Lambeth, yesterday.

Around 70 per cent of the first floor flat was damaged by fire. Around 30 people left the building before the Brigade arrived.

The Brigade was called at 2239 and the fire was under control by 2324. Crews from Clapham, Battersea and Brixton fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
