Flat fire in Croydon

Firefighters were called to a fire in sheltered housing on Lodge Road in Croydon in the early hours of this morning. The fire damaged around half of a flat on the ground floor but no one was injured.

Three fire engines from Croydon and Mitcham fire stations attended the scene with around 15 firefighters. The Brigade was called at 0255 and the fire was under control at 0415.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
