House fire in Wembley

Firefighters tackled a fire in a semi detached house on Saint Johns Road in Wembley this afternoon. Part of the ground floor is was damaged by the fire. An elderly man was led to safety by fire crews, and he and another elderly man were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Four fire engines and 20 firefighters from Willesden, Park Royal, and Northolt fire stations were at the scene. The Brigade was called at 1328 and the fire was under control at 1448.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
