Thornton Heath house fire

Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters were called fire in a terraced house on Langdale Road in Thornton Heath in Croydon CR7 today. The roof of the house was completely destroyed and partially collapsed during the fire. The first floor of the house was also badly damaged.

Station Manager Graham Coles, who was at the scene, said: “Firefighters worked really hard to stop the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties.”

The Brigade was called at 1151. Firefighters from Croydon, Norbury, Tooting and Mitcham fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
