Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters were called to a flat fire on Lillie Road in Fulham this afternoon.
The fire damaged around half of a five roomed flat on the sixth floor of the 17 storey block and around 25 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. The Brigade’s 999 control officers received over 20 calls to the incident.
Station Manager Lisa Hicks who was at the incident said: "Firefighters were on the scene very quickly and worked successfully to stop the fire from spreading to neighboring flats. Fortunately no-one was injured in this incident and our crews will now be visiting properties in the area to talk to residents about fire safety."
The Brigade was called at 1353 and the fire was under control by 1441. Fire crews from Fulham and surrounding fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation
