Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a fire in a terraced house in Newbury Park, Ilford on Saturday morning.
The fire badly damaged the first floor and part of the roof. Three people escaped from the building before the Brigade arrived.
The Brigade was called at 0644 and the fire was under control by 0825. Fire crews from Woodford, Romford, Dagenham and Barking fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
