Leyton - nine escape from house fire

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a fire in a house on Flempton Road, Leyton E10 in the early hours of this morning (Friday 9 December). The terraced house was badly damaged by fire. Five adults and four children escaped from the house before firefighters arrived at the scene, all were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.

The Brigade was called at 0041 and the fire was brought under control by 0202. Firefighters from Leyton and Homerton fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
