Eight fire engines and around 40 firefighters dealt with a fire in a commercial building at the junction of High Street North and Church Road in Manor Park, E12 today.
It’s believed the building is made up of a number of separate units used by different businesses or as workshops. Part of the building’s roof and second floor were damaged by the fire.
No injuries were reported although firefighters urged local residents to close doors and windows due to the heavy smoke.
The Brigade was called at 1000 and the fire was under control by 1350. Crews from Ilford, East Ham, Leytonstone, Plaistow, Bow and Stratford fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
