Lower Clapton – building site fire

Firefighters were called to a blaze on Clifden Road in Lower Clapton, E5 this morning

Around three tons of building materials on a building site were alight.

Smoke from the  fire was visible from the Olympic Park and the Brigade’s 999 control centre took a number of calls from members of the public.

The Brigade was called at 1018 and the fire was under control by 1106. Crews from Homerton and Bow fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
