Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters were called to a fire in a vehicle repair shop on Perry Road in Dagenham yesterday evening.
The fire damaged part of the building and a caravan. One man left the building before the Brigade arrived. He was suffering from smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade was called at 1728 and the fire was under control by 1902. Crews from Dagenham, Barking, East Ham, Wennington and Stoke Newington firte stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
