Chelsea - flat fire on the Kings Road

05 December 2014

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers were called to a flat fire on the Kings Road in Chelsea this morning.

The halogen heater caught some nearby clothes alight, the owner quickly spotted this and believing that the fire was out she put the clothes in the bin. She then left the flat but the bin caught fire and firefighters were called to deal with a kitchen blaze. Thankfully no one was injured.

The Brigade is warning about the dangers of fires caused by electric or halogen heaters this winter.

The Brigade was called at 0910 and the fire was under control by 0956. Crews from Chelsea, Fulham, Kensington and Battersea fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
