A woman has died following a fire in flat on Huron Road in Tooting, SW17 in south west London yesterday afternoon.
Around a quarter of the four roomed flat, which is on the ground floor of a terraced house that has been converted into flats, was damaged by the fire. Firefighters found the woman’s body inside the flat.
Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters from Tooting and Clapham fire stations were at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1656 and the fire was under control by 1755. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
