The London Fire Brigade was called to reports of a window cleaners’ cradle in a precarious position on the 72nd floor of the Shard on Saint Thomas Street in Southwark, SE1, today. On site engineers made the cradle safe at about 1437.
The Shard, when complete, will be the tallest building in Western Europe.
One fire engine from Dowgate fire station and one fire rescue unit from Clerkenwell fire station and around ten firefighters were at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1415 and the firefighters will leave the scene at around 1500.
