Fire crews attended a fire in a basement on Seymour Place, Marylebone W1 in central London this afternoon. A man suffering from burns was treated by the London Ambulance Service and taken to hospital. A small part of the basement was damaged by the blaze.
Four fire engines and a fire rescue unit were at the scene. Twenty five firefighters from Paddington, Euston, and Knightsbridge fire stations attended the call. The Brigade was called at 1231 and the fire was under control by 1343.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
