Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a fire in a derelict tyre scrap yard on Earlham Grove in Forest Hill yesterday evening.
Part of an electrical sub station and the outside fence were damaged by the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1819 and the fire was under control by 1926. Fire crews from Leytonstone and Stratford fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
