London Fire Brigade

Pimlico – flat fire

09 February 2010

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters attended a fire in a four storey block of flats on Churchill Gardens Road in Pimlico, yesterday evening.

Part of the ground floor flat was damaged by fire. It is believed the fire started in the flat’s kitchen and was caused by some cooking being left unattended. Around four people were evacuated from the block as a precaution.

The Brigade was called at 1919 and the fire was under control by 1953. Fire crews from Lambeth, Chelsea and Westminster stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
