London Fire Brigade

Leyland control unit

Having previously seen service as an airport coach, this vehicle provided the ideal arrangement for a control unit.

Control units are used as forward command posts at major fires and incidents, where they provide a radio link to Brigade control and act as a focal point for liaison between senior officers and other emergency services.

Modern command support units attend incidents with more than four crews in attendance and feature the latest communications technology.
