Safe in the City, supported by Securitas, will be an outdoor celebration of everything London Fire Brigade does.

Come and help make our Safe in the City event the biggest family fun day in the Brigade's 150 year history! No tickets needed, it's a free event! 

What time and where

Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park, Imperial War Museum Gardens, Kennington Road, London, SE1 6HZ - between 11:00 and 17:00

We'll be showing how different areas of the Brigade work together to make London a safer city.

Specialist demonstrations

Experience demonstrations from our specialist staff on

  • Extrication and trauma
  • Line rescues
  • 999 call handling
  • Urban Search and Rescue - digging people out of very difficult places

Interactive performances

Learn about fire safety in the home, through interactive performances in the Community Safety Zone.

Meet our museum team and learn about how we’ve adapted and progressed to become the modern fire rescue service we know today. See how far our fire engines have come from steam-powered and vintage appliances to the Brigade’s brand new fire engine for 2016.
